ACARI K-12 Schools
The first Asia – Middle East – Africa Conference on Academic and Research Integrity (ACARI 2023) is taking place in Dubai from 17th to 19th December 2023 Knowledge Park, Dubai.

The conference is endorsed by the European Network for Academic Integrity (ENAI) and International Center for Academic Integrity (ICAI) and is a collaborative effort of colleagues from Middlesex University Dubai, UAE, University of Wollongong in Dubai, UAE, Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Türkiye, Lahore LEADS University, Pakistan and King Fahd Medical City, Saudi Arabia. With invited colleagues from Chitkara University, India, Kuwait University, Kuwait, Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science & Technology University, Bangladesh, University of Calgary in Qatar, Prince of Songkla University in Thailand and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia.

ACARI 2023 aims to bring together leaders, educators, practitioners, and researchers from the AMEA region and beyond to discuss, create and promote the culture of integrity across educational campuses in the region.
​
The conference has a dedicated day and tracks for K-12 schools in the UAE and from across the world and invites schoolteachers, management and students to participate in this unique setting.
Events and Competitions

School Case Competition and Award
Do you have any research that highlights successful efforts in your school to uphold academic integrity in your classrooms or campus? An innovation pr practice that showcases how you have encouraged students to uphold academic integrity values of Fairness, Honesty, Trust, Respect, Courage and Responsibility?

Then submit a 300-500-word abstract of continuous text describing the current work for consideration by the programme committee. The selected abstracts will be accepted for presentation at the conference.

Abstracts must be submitted online via easychair:
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=acari2023 by 30th September 2023 for consideration by the program committee.

All authors/schools will be notified on or before 15th October 2023 - after expediated review for K-12 tracks - whether their abstract has been accepted.

Presentations will be organized for 19th December 2023 both physically and online as a hybrid conference.

Esteemed judges from the K-12 sector and international expert guests will be present to score the best presentations and ideas.

K-12 STUDENT COMPETITIONS JUNIORS
GRADES 5 - 6
Poster competition “My Integrity Mascot”
-
Students from Grades 5-6 are invited to present their ideas in the form of a hand-drawn A3-sized poster for the topic “My Integrity Mascot” to highlight how they envision their school campus’s mascot to help their campus based on one of the academic integrity values:

Responsibility

Interested and nominated students from the respective schools will be expected to register through the school to participate in the competition.

The competition will take place as a face-to face event on 19th December 2023 at Knowledge Park, Dubai.

Students will be provided with A3-sized art paper and two hours to complete their poster on the spot.
-
Students will be expected to bring their own art supplies they may wish to use to create the poster.
-
Esteemed judges will be present onsite to choose the top three posters.

K-12 STUDENT COMPETITIONS SUB SENIORS
GRADES 7 - 9
Movie competition “Integrity in me”

Students from Grades 7 – 9 are invited to work in groups of 3-5 to present their ideas in the form of a movie clip of no more than 90 seconds for the topic “Integrity in me” to highlight how they envision their life at school and with friends based on one of the academic integrity values:

Interested and nominated students from the respective schools will be expected to register through the school to participate in the competition.

The competition submissions will have to be made by 30th October 2023.

The work submitted MUST be by the students ONLY. No help from parents, siblings, other students, teachers or ChatGPT or any other artificial content generator is allowed for the competition.

The videos submitted must adhere to the UAE content and copyright laws. Use Pixabay.com for all royalty free clips or create your own movie and animation.

Students will be have to submit a movie file in MP4 format and maximum size of 10MB only.

Students will be expected to submit the movie within the deadline and expected to showcase videos to judges on 19th December 2023.

Esteemed judges will be present onsite to choose the top three posters.

K-12 STUDENT COMPETITIONS SENIORS
GRADES 10 - 12/13
Integrity Debate Champion 2023

Students from Grades 10 – 12/13 are invited to work in groups of 3 to participate in the annul Integrity Debate Championship

Interested and nominated students from the respective schools will be expected to register through the school to participate in the competition.

The competition will take place across three rounds, depending on the total number of schools participating.

Details of debate competition will be shared at a later stage.

Esteemed judges will be present onsite to choose the winner for the championship.
